It was very Difficult to come up with new ideas based on the objects we had at hand as a lot of combinations have had been invented and used before. Below is the rough brainstorming that our group did, but did not yield much.

However with a presentation looming, we broke up in pairs to think, where i was paired up with lin ao for one idea and with kelly for another. With Lin Ao, we thought about combining a comb and a hair tie together and added modifications to it - retraction and buttons, naming it the R.C.T, Retractable Comb Tie.

And with kelly, we came up with a combination of mascara and lip gloss stick with a pen as our base, naming it the D.L pen, Dark Light Pen, with Dark for Mascara and light for the glittery lip gloss.

It was also very interesting to learn the different mechanisms, like the retractable pen's, twist pen's and retractable comb and also the simple compass leg extension. the GIFs were made by Kelly.

Especially for the pen mechanisms, its a wonder how i had never taken into consideration how it actually worked till now, taking it as a natural given fact rather than a mechanic. Overall this concept was difficult but interesting as it pushes us to think of new ideas by forcing connections with objects, using different triggers.
