WEEK 4 - brainstorming pt 2
This week in class we watched some vidoes on brainstorming and one particularly caught my attention was Issac Mizrahi's Fashion and Creativity.
Besides his interesting personality, i found his way of brainstorming unique, where he would walk around at night, noticing small details on people's clothing and get inspiration from them. He would not reject any ideas and just receive them as they come and make them transform into his own unique brand of design.
"I walk during the day and I follow people who I think look interesting"
Also, he strives to experience new things, even if he fails in them. In the advertising industry that I am striving for, i reckon that it is important to experience different things and build up experience as everything under the sun can become a brief for a job.
"I feel as little comfort as possible is a good thing...I don't say that I do everything well, I just say that I do a lot of things, that's all...Because if you do many things you get to feel lousy about everything, and not just one, you know. You don't master feeling lousy about one thing."
This video had also made me realized that the design industry is all the same, no matter which section we all fall into because we all can learn from each other's creative process, which though might differ from one another but is beneficial to all.
Below are some of Mizrahi's work that i found interesting.
